Position Descriptions and Public Board Openings
for the April 2009 Consolidated Election

 

Kenilworth Library Board – Four openings for four year terms
The Library Board oversees delivery of library services, oversees the staff librarian, approves the budget, holds truth and taxation hearings, and levies the district taxes. There are five meetings per year. Since the meetings are held in April, June, July, September, and October summer availability is important.

 

Kenilworth Park Board – Two openings for six year terms
The Kenilworth Park Board oversees the park properties, the activity programs, the village house, and the village hall. Each member serves on a subcommittee. Board meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month.

 

Kenilworth Village Board  – Three Trustee openings for four year terms; Village President opening for a four year term; Village Clerk opening for a four year term
The board meetings are held the second Monday of every month. Each Trustee chairs one committee and is a member of two other committees (e.g. finance committee, community affairs, building and zoning). The average time commitment is 15-20 hours per month.

 

Joseph Sears School Board – Four openings for four year terms
The School Board enacts and reviews school policy, appoints and oversees the superintendent, adopts the budget, oversees finances, and negotiates teacher contracts. The board meetings are held the first and third Mondays of every month. In addition, board members sit on two committees (building and finance, education, communication, etc.) and also serve as representatives to the JSS Foundation, Booster Club, NSSED, etc.
